Tastes Like: Caffeinated Divorce Wallpaper
Posted by Sarah Chiappetta | June 1, 2012This week we have creative solutions for kicking people out or bringing them closer: send an espresso feel me text, a divorce gift card or stay at a divorce hotel.
1. : This is a conceptual app that attempts to create an emotional connection by showing you in real-time what your texting partner is doing. Here’s how: a small red dot shows where on the screen the other person’s finger is currently pressing and if your fingers touch the screens in the same place there’s a vibration or a sound. We see this taking relationships to new levels, where you can now get felt-up over text. Yes!
2. : In Mexico, you can go to a local supermarket and buy a low-cost divorce gift card for yourself or a friend. As long as there is documented proof of the separation the amount of the gift card will be deducted from the final price. It’s kind of brilliant that we now have the option to give a gift card that says, “Congratulations, you’re married to an a**hole.”
3. : It’s a machine called the Textspresso, which uses a cloud texting service to not only send but also receive text messages. Users can text their orders to the device and it prints them on coffee foam using edible ink. It could be cool if the next iteration included different flavors of ink to add to your coffee along with the text.
4. : Sometimes you want to stay in a hotel for a getaway, for a change of scenery or for a quickie divorce. If the latter is of interest to you, a hotel in the Netherlands is checking in unhappy married couples to assist with this. With the help of independent lawyers couples can checkout within 3 days as happily unmarried singles.
5.: It’s a wallpaper that you can put up to keep your neighbors from stealing your WiFi connection. You could always just use a password to secure a private network connection, but that might be too easy or you might just really love snowflake patterned walls. Either way, who are we to judge? It’s always better to be safe.
