PLAYED – October 2009
Posted by Eric Bee | October 18, 2009We’ve torn ourselves away from Brutal Legend, Borderlands, and Uncharted 2 to bring you October’s edition of PLAYED, covering a wide variety of topics and trends that are shaping gaming today. This month, we look at individuality via networked gaming, with consoles empowering gamers to put themselves online and into their favorite games.
We also cover a recent study that proves that Madden gamers are bigger football enthusiasts that non-playing fans, and discuss the findings and implications against other fan-based genres. Speaking of fans, fantasy sports season is in full swing and we explore the aspects of this rising industry and its correlation to video games. Finally, with the gaming release schedule full of top-tier titles, we look at how publishers and developers are using social networking alongside creative promotional tactics to stand out in this crowded gaming season.
