140 CHARACTERS ON SUPER BOWL ADS
Posted by Eric Bee | February 6, 2009Another Super Bowl brings the time-honored tradition of Ad People giving their two cents on what spots made the most of their $3 million and we’re no exception to this.
This week’s 140 Characters takes a look at what made us laugh, cry, throw things, and demand that people put down the guacamole and chicken fingers and get ready to rock.
“SB commercials were a let down. I don’t think all the industry buzz Miller got for the 1 second spot translated to the world caring/noticing” – Matt Gibbs, DE
“I was Super Bored by the ads – to the degree that I now find the ad aspect of the game to be a quaint, irrelevant relic of a bygone era.” – Christian Kugel, OLB
“Sobe & GoDaddy anger me. Cheetos & Coke continue their brilliance. Careerbuilder stays with joke until ROFL. Cash4Gold=EPIC WIN. Others? Meh” – Benny Torres, SS
“It was not that Pepsuber breached some massive ethical wall of church and state, it is that it was bad.” – Todd Krieger, FS
“The Bud Lite ads were pretty funny. But they also made me think that horses probably shouldn’t be combined with beer.” – Ellen Bird, ROLB
“I sold all the gold in my house and teeth.” -Saneel Radia, CB
“Cash4gold, Coke Zero Mean Troy, Conan Bud Light, Hyundai, Coke Avatar, NBC LMAO, Cheetos = WIN / I h8 Drinkability / Why brands use old ads?” – Albert Kim, C
“It’s hard to tell which was most boring: the bowl itself, its ads, or the half-time show” – Katie Cook, RB
“Pepsuber needed more Richard Dean Anderson. And duct tape. And Alec Baldwin.” – John Rafferty, LOLB
“I welcome Alec Baldwin, our new alien overlord, and hope he uses Hulu to make better ads next year.” – Eric Bee, HB
